Quenia Ribeiro

Afro-Brazilian Dance

  • As part of the Dance for Joy 10-week series, this class with Quenia Ribeiro invites you to explore the rich cultural roots and joyful spirit of Samba while honoring the African traditions that continue to thrive in Brazil.  With the largest African-descendent population outside of the continent, Brazil is home to a vibrant heritage where music, dance, and spirituality are deeply intertwined.  Samba reflects this legacy, Quenia’s class explores various forms of Samba from Rio De Janeiro and Bahia - Samba No Pé, Miudinho, Samba Reggae, to Samba Afro and more.

In this class, students are guided through movement grounded in tradition and spirit, creating space for connection, creativity, and transcending.  Each week offers a chance to journey inward, celebrate outward, and experience the freedom that comes from dancing in community. Sign up today and feel the joy!
