LOHH Women’s History Month Takeover!
Join Cumbe as we celebrate Women’s History Month with the amazing women of Ladies of Hip Hop! LOHH is taking over Cumbe with 5 hours of different workshops featuring hip hop dance styles such as Hip Hop for beginners, house, elements of vogue and more. Happening Sunday, March 26 from 12-5pm, students can sign up for single classes or join us for all five followed by our Women’s History Month social and celebration from 5-7pm. Registration details below. $20 per class.
Ladies of Hip Hop (LOHH) is an organization that is dedicated to empowering girls and women in Hip-Hop culture. LOHH provides girls and women with a platform to be heard, seen, respected, and celebrated in the world of Hip-Hop. By providing resources and opportunities such as dance training, performance opportunities, mentorships, educational programs, career development support, and networking opportunities, we are building the next generation of hip-hop's changemakers .
LOHH recognizes Hip-Hop culture as one of resiliency and history—a culture worth preserving and archiving. That's why we seek to serve as a living archive of Hip-Hop through the female lens. By highlighting these stories, we hope to ensure that girls and women have an active role in defining the future of Hip-Hop culture.
We strive to ensure our women in our community have access to the resources they need to express themselves authentically and become the voices of tomorrow. Join us in our mission to support girls and women in Hip-Hop culture and preserve the legacy of Hip-Hop for generations to come!

12pm · (Absolute Beginner) Hip Hop with Beasty / $20
Introduction to Hip Hop through drilling grooves, party steps and foundations. This class will consist of simple Hip Hop groove breakdowns. Drilling the movement to understand the fundamental, musicality, and his/herstory of Hip Hop. There will be no choreography in this class, so it is a perfect fit for anyone who has never taken Hip Hop and wants to start learning Hip Hop.

Born in New York, Tomoe grew up in Japan for 10 years. She started her dance training in Japan at Next Generation Dance Studios. Tomoe is the first graduate of KiNEXtionSTM from NXGN Studios. She has worked with artists like Alicia Keys, Swaelee, Jidenna, Freddie Gibbs and more, recently winning Red Bull Dance Ya Style Boston.

60 minutes of basic house. Going over the foundations starting with the grooves as well as basic club steps.

Born in Japan, Cocoro belongs to a world renowned street dance family. Cocoro started her dance training in Japan at Next Generation Dance Studio learning styles such as Hip Hop, House, Waacking and more. She is a graduate of the street dance program KiNEXtionSTM from NXGN Studios and the youngest member of the LOHH Dance Collective.
2pm · Vogue Elements with Reyna Nunez / $20
The 5 elements of Vogue Femme and feminine energy intertwined. Learn, drill and explore.

A born and bred New Yorker, Reyna is a versatile movement artist. Reyna has performed with Janet Jackson, Lizzo, Louie Vega, and also appears as a featured dancer in the film "In the Heights”. Reyna is currently a dancer in LaTasha Barnes’ Jazz Continuum, as well as the Administrative Assistant for Michele Byrd-McPhee, Melanie George end LaTasha Barnes.
3pm · Waacking with Shar / $20
Join Shar in learning about this culture of Waacking. We will explore the different elements through drills and exercises. The most important thing to bring to the table is you and your story. This dance allows and expects you to be yourself first.

Shar grew up in the world of choreography performing for The View, Sephora, and Ludacris, and choreographing/performing for Ryan Leslie. Later she discovered her passion for freestyle, the club scene and more specifically - waacking. She is now a principal dancer and rehearsal director for Princess Lockerooo’s company, “The Fabulous Waack Dancers.” Shar has also singlehandedly grown her own production company called Movements by Shar. Her company films red carpet events, ENG press coverage, music videos, new media TV, live performances, directs multi cam productions, and produces documentaries. Her unique abilities to film and dance sometimes has her dancing, choreographing, filming, and editing live shows and music videos.
4pm · Litefeet with Imani / $20
Learn + explore the fundamentals of a street dance style called Lite Feet. This class breaks down the party and battle components through a series of drills, phrases and cyphers.

Imani Arrington, a Brooklyn Native studied under Angel Chinn, performing with NonaLee Dance Theatre since 2014. Imani continued training at Queensborough College but decided to shift focus to explore passions and purpose within NYC's street dance culture. Imani currently teaches and performs with LOHH Dance Collective and Educated Little Monsters.
