West African Dance

w/ TENENFIG DIOUBATE

Our Cumbe family is happy to welcome master dancer Tenenfig Dioubate for the summer rotation of our West African Dance class! Born and raised in Guinea, West Africa, Tenenfig brings a lifetime of experience and deep cultural knowledge to the studio.  Through dance Tenenfig Dioubate encourages students to connect with their roots in Africa and to understand the importance of learning about cultural history.

All levels are welcome in this energetic, joyful class. With live drumming to guide the way, students will be led through a full-body warm-up, dynamic exercises across the floor, and choreography rooted in traditional dances. Tenenfig believes dance is a powerful tool for connecting with one's roots and understanding culture through embodied practice. Whether you're new to West African dance or have years of experience, this class offers an opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the richness of West African Dance.
