Congolese Dance
w/ Andoche:
Join Andoche for a heartfelt tribute to the lands of Brazil and Congo—two places worlds apart yet deeply connected through shared rhythms, movement, and history. This class will get your body moving and your spirit lifted as you feel the pulse of the Ngoma drum. We’ll begin with an energizing warm-up of isolations and stretches, then dive into traditional Congolese movement and song. Come celebrate culture, connection, and renewal as we dance our way into a bright new year.
12:30-2pm
Afro-Brazilian & Samba
w/ Quenia Ribeiro
Explore vibrant Samba styles from Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, including Samba No Pé, Miudinho, and Samba Reggae. Quenia also highlights Afro-Brazilian dances rooted in Angola, Congo, Benin, and Nigeria. Each class features a dynamic warm-up, strength-building exercises, and a soothing cool-down.
2-3:30pm
WEAR YOUR COLOR!
In Brazil, the New Year is marked by the tradition of wearing white, symbolizing peace and embracing all possibilities. For our final class of the year, express your hopes for 2026 by wearing a color that reflects your wishes:
WHITE – Peace
YELLOW – Prosperity and wealth
PINK – Love and joy
RED – Passion and energy
BLUE – Inner peace
GREEN – Balance and stability
ORANGE – Abundance and success
PURPLE – Inspiration and creativity
Together, we’ll celebrate 2025 and infuse the new year with positivity and intention. Muito Axé! Muito Amor! Muita Paz! e Muita Saúde!
