TRANZISYON: Haitian Folkloric and Modern Choreography w/ Robenson Mathurin

TRANZISYON:

Haitian Folkloric and Modern Choreography

w/ Robenson Mathurin

Robenson Mathurin

Students with migrations stories, with a focus on Haiti are invited to join this special series and be part of the creative process for TRANZISYON, a two part choreographic project led by Robenson Mathurin.  This class will serve as a workshop to explore movement, share stories, and collaborate in shaping the choreography in part one of this work.

Through modern and traditional dance, the choreography created will reflect on the realities many migrants face moving through forest, across oceans, battling fatigue, hunger, and uncertainty, all while holding onto hope for survival and new beginnings.

This series is a space to explore, share, and co-create.  Later, students will have the chance to perform an excerpt of TRANZISYON if you choose to join us during our 10 week donation based Dance for Joy performance series!

Sunday, July 6 - Aug. 31 | 1 - 3pm / $12 (no class July 27)
