Dunham Based Haitian Folkloric Dance with Jessica St Vil-Ulysse is a vibrant high-energy dance class, accompanied by live drumming. This class will start with a Dunham based endurance building warm-up, to prepare and condition the body with isolations and strength based exercises. Dancers will then proceed to Dunham progressions that will lead to specific techniques of Haitian traditional dance. Participants will gain a kinesthetic understanding of the movement techniques, the progression of movement, and the historical and cultural significance of these dances. Dancers will also be given techniques for approaching details and nuances of these dance forms.

Dunham Based Haitian Folkloric Dance will be held at 651 Arts, located in the L10 Arts and Cultural Center at 10 Lafayette Ave in Brooklyn. The closest train station is Atlantic Ave–Barclays Center.
Please enter through the glass doors closest to Whole Foods on Ashland Place. The 651 Arts space is on the 4th floor and is accessible by elevator only.
Upon arrival to the 4th floor, staff will direct you to the studio.
