Konpa Dance Class

at 651 ARTS w/ Julio Jean & Polo

Join us for a fun, engaging Konpa Dance Class with Julio Jean and Polo, where you’ll explore rhythm, connection, and movement—whether dancing solo or with a partner.

Konpa is a soulful Haitian dance rooted in meringue, jazz, and Vodou rhythms. Born in Haiti in the 1950s, it spread throughout the Caribbean and influenced styles like Soca, Kassav, and Zouk. Known for its smooth, hip-centered movement and fluid partner connection, Konpa is both expressive and deeply enjoyable to dance.
